About three weeks ago I was switched from 125mgs Zoloft to 20mgs Lexapro because the Zoloft seemed to quit working for me. I take meRAB for anxiety and panic attacks.

I have had a couple of good days on the Lexapro. I started out at 10mgs for the first week and then went up to 20mgs. However, in the last few days I've started to get mini panic attacks again and my anxiety seems higher.

I've been lightheaded/dizzy since starting the Lexapro as well and although that ha gotten a little better, its still there.

I took Lexapro several years ago and it worked great. I stopped taking it so that I could get pregnant.
Do you think its not working for me this time or do I need to increase the dosage again? My doc wrote the prescription for 30mgs but because I have so many side effects on the 20mgs, I am hesitant to take more.

My guess is that you are just now experiencing some withdrawal symptoms from the change to Lexapro from Zoloft. You are probably at the point where the Zoloft is about out of your system, but you are not at an equivalent dose of Lexapro yet. I

I had asked my doctor a couple of different times if he was sure he didn't want to me taper off one and he said no, to just switch from one to the next. Then I asked the pharmacist and he said the same thing, to just stop one and take the other.
I didn't think about it being the Zoloft causing all of this extra anxiety and panic attacks. Thanks for that input! I guess I need to give the Lexapro some more time.

I had the same thing happen with me, with Lexapro. I took it for a year and stopped, panic came back so I had to start again 3 months later. But it didn't help that second time, and it made things worse. I got worse anxiety and I started getting angry, and suicidal and I had to stop again. I wish I hadn't have stopped the first time, but I was gaining some pounRAB and thought I was doing it on my own. Lexapro was great for the anxiety and a smoother med, I believe, after the initial extra anxiety subsided (side effects). After that, I couldn't tell I was taking a med.

Can you tell me how it's going? Are you still on Lexapro? Has it eased up and gotten better or still worse? I am taking Zoloft now and I don't like it. I want off of it, but it has taken a bit of the edge off....but it makes me shaky, dizzy, muscle fatigued and off in the head. But I don't see a better SSRI out there. I am not sure what to do. I don't want neurological damage from it.
