Taking deviled eggs camping? Possible?

A large group of friends and I are going to a big camping/concert event this weekend. I would really love to take some deviled eggs since they are such a summery picnic food (plus I love them!) I know I will be able to keep them cold enough in the cooler but I am just worried about transporting them. Does anyone have any creative, space saving ideas of ways I could transport deviled eggs this way without it getting too too messy? I'm not really worried about the way they look as long as they aren't just a slop of egg whites and filling. TIA!

The very first answer is the best one, that's how I make mine every time...cut the corner off the ziploc bag and use it like a piping bag. But if you don't want to assemble them there then try filling them all and then place each half egg into a cupcake liner and then put them one layer deep only into a large tupperware container that will fit in your cooler. The cupcake liners will help make sure they don't slide into one another. I don't think they will stick to the liners but maybe try out a batch at home first to double check that. Another possibility would be to buy the disposable foil muffin trays and put one half egg in each muffin hole.

Bring the whites sperate from the mixed eggs. Put the eggs in a plastic baggie and just sprit filling in each "shell" as you are ready to eat it.

Think deviled eggs easy cheese style.

Mountain_Baby absolutely has the right idea!

Stack/Nest the empty, cut egg white shells in a Ziploc bag (the "Snack" size would be ideal) or plastic container. Put the filling in a Ziploc bag. When you're ready to serve, cut the corner off the bottom of the Ziploc bag which holds the filling, then simply squeeze the bag, to pipe the filling into the egg white shells (pastry bag style).

you could make egg salad instead and pre make sandwiches that you will keep in a cold place , I don't think that the deviled egg idea is appropriate for a picnic,

As long as you can keep everything cold, why not take your hard boiled eggs, mayo, and whatever other special stuff you put in them and make them up there. No worry about spillage, dumping, etc.

Sure, make deviled eggs according to your favorite recipe

Since they are already cut in half,
carefully put two halves together
and wrap in a piece of paper towel or small napkin, or plastic wrap

To transport them easily put the wrapped eggs back into the original egg box for a disposable crush proof carrier

This will keep them clean, dry and give you an easy clean up for
sticky fingers while enjoying your favorite snack!

Have a great time!
