hi,i just wondered if anyone would recommend taking any vitamin or tablet supplement after having a back fusion,i am 6 weeks post op and not really in any pain but i just wondered if it would help the bone fuse,

That was one of my many pre-op questions for my doctor. He sadly shook his head and said, "no, believe me I would tell you if there were anything you could take!" Just eat as healthy as you can and take a multivitamin. Some people also add extra calcium, since it's supposed to be good for your bones. Good nutrition is very important while you're trying to get bone to grow. (Okay, it's important all the time, but it's especially important now. :))

thanks emily,i will just buy some multivitamins and take them,i went for a 6 week check up today with a specialist nurse and i meant to ask but i forgot,everything was ok though which is a relief,

There is a homeopathic pill called Ledum that is helpful in bone trauma; I took it when I broke a few bones a couple of years ago and it helped them heal very well. You might want to check into it, although it probably should've been taken from the beginning but I guess that it's never too late?
