I am currently at the end of my T Mo contract, and am looking to get a new phone. I have grown to despise my Samsung x475.
I am really interested in the SDA.
Pros:
the smartphone features; email, web, wifi, media player
screen looks awesome
been lots of great reviews
EDGE capability
Cons:
price; might be able to get a deal for around $100 at CUSA, but that is best case scenario
size; have had bar phones in the past, which were fine, but have gotten used clamshell size now
reviews have said that the keypad is kinda small
the T809 also caught my eye.
Pros:
good reviews
screen looks even better than the SDA. I would say about on par with the PSP
smaller size than the SDA
price is not bad at all
Cons:
not a smartphone.
not sure how web navigation is for it.
I also have the option of joining with my family's family plan at Verizon. I checked out the 9800 there, it looks delicious.
Pros:
full keyboard
dual displays, even the smaller on is a good size
has media player capabilities
stereo speakers
V Cast/EVDO data speeds
awesome reviews
Cons:
on the bigger side
Verizon disabling some features
speaker phone only works flipped open
interface seems to be lacking
have to switch carriers
Verizon has killed data plans on people for various reasons, including how I might want to use it
I will say that I have been nothing but pleased with T Mo service, never a single issue. but if I chance carriers, I can save ~$10 a month.
I would like to get some input on:
How is the speed difference between the T Mo EDGE and VZW EVDO?
How is the usability of browsing on the 9800 and T809?
How is POP mail support on the 9800 and T809?
Do the T809 and SDA have voice dialing?
I guess thats about it.
