I have my T5 working smoothly. It took 36 hrs to set, reset, download, hard reset etc. I have agendus 8.14, Epochrates, and Vindigo all working flawlessly. It just took alot of time.
I have owned every Pilot and Palm made from 125K to T, T2,T3,T5, all the 500's and all the III's. This has the most potential.
But:
1. No way to charge away from home or car without carrying the one power source. Unlike the T3, the T5 does not charge when attached to USB. Only a car charger exists, not a second charger.
2. The screen writes are slower so the machine acts slower than the T3. Functionally this machine is slow, processor not withstanding.
3. The digitizer often requires two presses. And interestingly, if you want to access the sub-menus if there are three, the most right one rarely works. When you tap on it, you get the step of what's under the menu. The work around is to use the 5way button to navigate the third drop down.
4. The Flash ROM update is confusing. Mine hangs but after three tries, I think it has done what it needed to. The memo date is now correct, but certainly if this is speed enhanced' it is not great. I am afraid to try again, because I think it only restores part of my data.
5. I may have to break my rule of never reading instructions, as I can't get it to lock at 3 am daily
All in all, this machine is a step up over all the Palms except the T3.
