T3 Screen Sharp or Sony? Please advice!

Hi

I know that this topic was discussed in the past, but browsing these threads had caused me more confusion then clarity.

My T3 was sent to a Palm repair center and I was told that they are gonna send me back a refurbished unit which will probabely have the Sharp (newer?) LCD screen. Further more I was told by them that there are no differences between the two LCD types!

My previous unit was very bright (4 orange stage lights at the bottom). Was that the Sony?

Please provide me a clear idea, is the Sharp LCD really inferior to the Sony one and by what parameters?
If yes, please advice how can I "presuade" Palm repair to send me the better one?

The repair center is in the UK the unit was sent to Celestica Klando in the Czech republic (actual European repair facility)

Those who had such an experience, please advice.

I once sent my T3 for replacement, and got a unit whose screen was not as sharp and bright as my original (pictures were bluish). I sent it back and had it replaced. My present unit has four orange led light, so it must be Sony.

I only read about the two different screens in this forum after that replacement, so I was not able to see if the unit I rejected had fewer led lights.

At any rate, test the replacement using your familiar softwares, especially picture viewer. If you notice an inferior performance, then send it back immediately.

I'm sure you will notice the difference immediately, if there is any.
 
The orange lights are not leds. They are merely the light shining through an orange ribbon in certain areas. Whether this only occurs in the way one manufacturers screen is fitted, I don't know.
 
Ok, I stand corrected. I read about the two different screens several months ago, so I don't exactly remember what kind of light it was. What I recall is there are four lights on the Sony, and fewer lights on the other one (I think there was no mention of Sharp then, so Sharp LCD could really be a new release).

The first replacement that I got was a new unit and yet the screen was inferior, so I returned it. I was sent another new unit (it was specified as new) with four orange lights, and the screen was as bright as my original unit.
