T3 refusal to Hotsynch was rare now every time

I have not posted for a time but i have been reading this board still. Recently my t3 has been refusing to synch on occasion. I would get the tone on my pc indicating synch and just as the synch graphic startede, the tone would occur again with the message on the T3 that hotsynch operation was interupted etc. On checking the log it says:

HotSync operation started 04/20/05 18:30:33
HotSync Error:
An application failed to respond to a
HotSync notification. Please check the Palm Desktop for details. (8009)
HotSync operation complete 04/20/05 18:30:34

Today this error is occuring every time i synch. Is there anyway to determine what the problem is? I hope you are not going to tell me to remove soft ware. There ahve been no additions to my T3 fro some weeks. Except palm books. I am trying to reinstall word docs to go from my cd to my card. These files are sitting in palm quick install. I know they are in ram but Docs to go gives me a consitent fatal error whenever i close a file and then i have to do a soft reset.

Try going into Palm Desktop, Tools, Options, Tools and then choose "check and repair any corrupted records".

And then when that doesn't work:

Palm One Tech Support

Tells you to unistall the desktop and reinstall but read the details.

Ah, the old 8009 error. Dollars to donuts it's being caused by Documents to Go. Go to http://tinyurl.com/6mbh3 and download the Hotsync Check utility. Follow the instructions on the web page and you should be able to isolate and fix the offending application.

Hello Barry ? Heather from palmOne writing. Sorry to hear you are struggling to HotSync. There?s a lot of information in the palmOne Support Knowledge Library about error 8009. Try going to the following link:

http://kb.palmone.com

Then search by Solution ID: 1005
How to resolve an 8009 error while trying to synchronize data (Windows)

Or

Solution ID: 32571
'An application on the desktop failed to respond to a HotSync notification. Please check the desktop for details. (8009)'

Solution ID: 36268
How do I address the error 'An application failed to respond to a HotSync notification, please check the Palm Desktop for details. (8009)'?

Solution ID: 31744
What does the HotSync log entry 'Outlook OLE Error (8009)' mean and how do I fix it?

One of these solutions should work.
Hope this was helpful.
Heather

I wannt to thank all who posted here to help me. I reloaded palm desktop and all is well.
Now i suppose there is no way to remove docs to go frmo ram, since it crashes and resets my T3 every time i close it?

There are upgrades available at the Dataviz web site for the DTG version that came in RAM. Have you downloaded and installed the upgrade and, if so, do you still have the problem?

Did you register your DTG version at the Dataviz web site? If not, you should do so as that's the only way you'll see interim updates to DTG version 6.0. I have the same version on my TJ37 and there are updates to version 6.008 to fix some bugs. Once you've registered, you should be able to download a similar update.

It's also possible that you have a corrupted preference file in DTG that was also causing your original sync problem. If you search on corrupt preferences at the Dataviz support web site, you'll find some articles about how to fix this.

i downloaded eh update on the Dataviz site for DTG and although the update carshes and cannot find my docs' the version in my ram now works. Go figure?
