T3 Masking Password Entry

As we all know, most security apps will mask the entry of a password. I'm wondering (I'm sure I saw one somewhere) if there's a freeware that will mask the entry of "good 'ol Palm Security" password entry.

Has anyone used one or know where it is? I've reverted back to using standard "Palm lock" when off, but would like the password hidden when I enter it. TIA

Hi,

Not certain on this one, but have you got the latest security update from palm, as I thought this masked the password entry.

Regards,

Thanks Martin. Ironically, 1) I've decided not to use the new TealLock (doubled in size to 600k), and 2) Tealpoint in fact wrote the security 5.0 application I just downloaded from Palm per your advice.

The download is 237k install and includes AES encryption - the new TealLock boasted "new" AES encryption, but apparently is available only on TealLock Corporate edition. So what you're left with is a 600k doubling-in-size of the standard TealLock application with no real benefits.

I do automated backups at night, so rarely engaged TealLock all the years I've had it. I have never lost my Palm. It seems the benefits of encrypting databases is great until you back them up encrypted - and then there's the argument of "Flash or no Flash" (I always kept TealLock in RAM). Thanks and I'll consider the above excellent advice (hadn't thought of that!!) - but it's another application with possible detriments when all I wanted was to mask a password. Rats.

Cheers - I'll look at this Palm version which I refer to as "TealLock lite;" it may be the answer and is certainly a smaller footprint with almost as many options. TealLock does allow you to encrypt files on the SD Card as well, but I'm not as paranoid as I used to be (!!) and haven't actually "locked" my handheld in 1-2 years now.

Thanks for the response, sir.
