T3 Freezes when installing PNY 256MB SD card

Hi.
I got a PNY 256MB SD chip for my Palm Tungsten T3. When I put the card in, the Palm turns on, and a Fatal Exception (Reset) error pops up and forces me to do a reset.
I do a restart by pushing the little button on the back of the PDA, and it boots ok, and I can use my PDA. I go to Copy, under App, and try copying a file to the SD Card and it copies fine. I choose Card from the list of categories and it displays the file I copied over, along with a Fatal Exception (Reset) error.

Any ideas how I can get my SD card to work on my T3?

Do you have the T3 update installed from Palmone? That fixes numerous bugs including SD card issues.

Also did you format the card before using it for the first time?

Well, I reformated the SD card, and did the update. YAY! It doesn't lock up anymore. This is good news, to me. :D

Thanks!

Now however, I cannot sync anything to the card. For example, I tried to send 2MB mp3 to my T3 and this is what I get.
On the screen, the hotsync window says: Status: Installing to card
On my T3 it says Synchronizing
That's as far as it gets, for minutes and minutes, nothing gets transfered. It doesn't seem like it's doing anything.
I tried copying a file from the PDA's memory to the card, and it copied over fine.

any ideas how I can sync files to the card? (like MP3s for example)

AHA! Well, it turns out that I CAN sync files to the SD Card! It just takes forever!! After about 15 minutes or so, one mp3 file actually copied! I guess my current question now is:

Has anyone else experienced slow sync speeds while syncing an MP3?

If so, does anyone know if there's a faster way? (Besides buying an SD Card reader)

Cheers,

Card Reader. Only way to go. It will set you free. Cheap.

Try to get one that takes AS MANY different types as possible, because next week when there are 5 MORE types, you'll only need a second one!

Agreed - that is what I do also. The card readers that install in your 3.5 inch bay on your case are very handy. No external wires and easy to reach. The "in bay" version support multiple formats.

Hadn't even SEEN those, KimH - I'll look for one. I currently have two and I hate the cable nonsense.

EHHHHXCELLENNNNT.

Make sure your motherboard has USB pins to attach the cables from the reader. If not you need to run the cable out thru the back and into a USB slot ( not a fan of that)

I also have the 3 1/2 bay one but mine also has the floppy drive with it, which saves me a bay.
