Howdy all,
After a recent unfortunate, annoying, time-consuming, nerve-wracking hard reset on my T3 - but I repeat myself, to paraphrase Mark Twain ....
Anyways, as I was saying, after the reset, I noticed that both Splashmoney and HanDBase seemed to have new behaviour with regards to horizontal/vertical screen orientation. It seems to me that now almost any action I perform in either app that involves opening a new screen returns me to a vertical view from a horizontal view, and I don't remember it being like this before. I find it highly annoying. I even wrote to SplashData complaining about the behavior of the new version of SplashMoney, but on reflection, realized that something else might be happening.
I am guessing that this has to do with the two compatibility PRCs, appslip_rotate and status_bar_lib, so I investigated what's where. It turns out there are two versions of each on the handheld, slightly larger ones in the ROM dated 14.aug.03, and slightly smaller ones in RAM, dated the day I did the recovery from the hard reset, whose sizes are within 1k of the archived ones on my desktop ( the ones I had originally installed). As an experiment, I tried re-installing them from the desktop, but it refused to do it, saying they already existed (natch).
So after that long intro, my questions are these:
(1) is my impression that things changed after the hard reset correct, or could it be?
(2) if so, how do I get it back to the way I think it was before?
(3) if I am correct that this involves re-installing the two files, is it safe to delete them from RAM, and if so in what order - Here I point out that one is warned to install them together during the same hotsync in order to avoid a hard reset, so I can just imagine what would happen if I deleted one before the other. Also, is there a particular version of these two files I should be using? The ones I have in my archive are dated 17 sep 03, and are 12k and 58k in size.
TIA for any help
