T3 Connecting to the internet

Well I finally got a BT phone (Moto V600), got it paired and the can connect. The problem is when I tried to connect with the AOL 800 number it hit it and then dropped - of course since I don't have the aol software on my palm - which in reading the description of the $20 package is just for IM and email DL.

I know this may sound like stupid questions, but what number can I use (ie service to connect) and will the aol software work in conbination with WEB Pro to get me on the internet? Don't care that much about aol (just local numbers when I have to use dialup and am out of town) just need a way to connect.

Any help would be gratefullyl appreciated.

Thank you.

I think your going to have to check with AOL on this one because I know of no one that connects to the internet through AOL on a Palm device.

AOL is itself a Web browser that the Palm cannot connect to since it's not a true internet browser - proprietary.

There may be an access number that AOL will allow you to connect through but.....

Try connecting to the web via your phone's carrier or data service. They too should have a phone number for access although it's possible they will charge you for that additional service.

If your phone company does'nt have a (cheap) data number, then what I did (in the UK) was sign up with a free ISP with a cheap dial-up number and go through there.

Nice and easy. I had more problems getting my phone to talk to the T3, until I finally found something on palmOne about the phone needing firmware later than so and so. Got the phone cheaply updated while overseas (costs ?20 in the UK!! rip-off Nokia), and now it works fine.

I've been doing this for a few years now, first with a Visor Deluxe and Nokia 8290 and later with combinations of m105/m125/Tungsten E and Motorola p280/Nokia 6610 through T-Mobile using my Earthlink account. Still can't make my Visor connect using the 6610, though.

By the way, welcome to Palm Boulevard, sijpie! They let you out of PalmVenue for the day?
