T3 Battery & AvantGo synch problems

I have a Palm Tungsten T3. Recently my battery drained all the way to nothing -- I was unable to turn the pda on until after it sat in the cradle for a period. Once turned on, I lost all the data. Luckily it all came back once I re-synched with my desktop, but I am wondering if this is just the symptom of a bigger problem. This happened once before a number of months ago.

Also, on this particular occasion of dead battery and lost data, I was not able to re-synch my AvantGo channels onto the device. My AvantGo user name is there, and my password is "unassigned". I put in my correct password and press "sumbit", but when I synch the pda, I never seem to get my channels reloaded. I have visited the AvantGo site and verified my user name and password. Any ideas of why it will not provide me with my old channels? Every now and again, I DO get the initial screen promoting a channel from AvantGo. I click "no thanks" to that channel and then get the same {Enter Account Information} screen once again.

Any help or advice on either issue?

Any Palm will lose all the data in RAM if you let the battery drain completely. The T3 reserves a small part of the battery power for backup and will retain the memory contents for about eight hours once the Palm will no longer turn on. If you let it go longer than that, you will lose all your data. This is completely normal and isn't the sign of any other problem. The T3 is not noted for long battery life so you should recharge it at every opportunity.

Avantgo conduits seem to have a problem with corruption after a hard reset, which is what occurs when your battery is flat. You can usually solve the problem by uninstalling Avantgo from both your Palm and PC and then reinstalling.
