T|X memory card question!

hey everybody, this is my first post on this forum. ive recently purchased the TX and i think its great, a very useful tool. last night i decided to download some Ebooks onto my TX (or more specifically my memory card) and i downloaded a 5 mb text book, the CIA world factbook. the problem is even though it says that the memory is taken up (on my CARD INFO option on the TX) i cant seem to find the file! does anybody know of a way to format my memory card or to erase this file? thanks in advance!

To format the card, click on the "Card Info" icon in Applications. Either use the dropdown icon at the bottom of the screen, or tap at the very upper left corner of the screen. "Format Card" will be an option.

For viewing the file, it's difficult to say how to do it, because you didn't state what format the file is in, and what you're using to read it. Give those pieces, and someone can probably answer...

ok awesome, i just did it. thanks alot for that, i feel pretty stupid since its so simple to do...

is there any way to make my pda fast, or to rid it of any programs i dont need? i know i can get the list of programs and i can delete them, but im not sure which are "necessary" applications for the TX

any suggestions would be great

Wow, tough questions for me, as I've been out of Palm for a little while...

On speed, I think there used to be hacks that would up your clock speed on the old systems. Don't know if they exist for the T|X, but I'm happy with the speed as it is, and don't want to experiment.

On getting rid of apps, I generally go through them once and if I decide that there's no way I'll ever use that particular one again, I kill it.

No idea on the pdb file, unless you find it in the application delete lineup. Sorry.

pbd or pdb?

Use Filez to browse specific files on both your Internal and External memory.

Try 'Off Flush' or 'MemInfo' to flush your RAM which will generally speed up your Palm.

You can also try an application called Warpspeed which you can use to overclock your PDA. Generally 400Mhz is the safest speed to overclock it to (the T|X has the same processor that the T|5 with the exception that the T|X is underclocked).
The same processor is used in the Dell X50v and Dell X51v which is clocked at 612Mhz.

OK well generally if you have the time to set all your applications you can acctually underclock programs that dont need 100%+ power while some programs such as emulators may require more than 100% power. This means that you have an even amount of programs using extra power and less power.

Heat isnt much of a problem unless you go overboard and fry your motherboard.

The other thing Warpspeed is good for is to get rid of the 'screen whine'. It completely removes it!

My experience with Overclocker's - don't bother. They will typically cause some conflicts and if you are running a TX then speed isn't an issue as it's the faster current processor for the Palm platform.

Don't get me wrong - they speed up the application but what harm they do has never really been "analyzed" in my opinion.

And how does one know when that has happened - usually after it's too late.

And if you need that much faster processing power on a handheld - well use a laptop? IMLTHO

Well put it this way.

I used Warpspeed to get rid of my Screen Whine and to overclock when i'm playing ZDoomz, other than that, i dont overclock anything else.

The fact that it eliminates the screen whine is quite incredible, something that lightspeed only did if you set it the right way.
