T|X Crashed, Not Restarting or Resetting

Hi Everyone

My T|X crashed today during an email operation. And it is not responding to anything. Will not restart, will not reset. It is acting awfully...dead? :(

Can anyone give me any advice on what to do? I know the battery was at least half charged when it started acting so morbidly.

When I first got it several months ago, similar things happened but it has never gone this long without at least some kind of electronic shimmer...

Sorry to ask, but how did you try to reset your device?

Use the tip of an unfolded paper clip (or similar object without a sharp tip), and gently press the reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your handheld, usually labeled ?Reset.?

PS -- sounds like your email was corrupt. You might want to delete the culprit when you get your device turned on again.

Dave,

A similar thing happened to me last week. I phoned Palm support and they asked me to do what they termed a "battery reset" :

1) put the unit on its charger (& switch on the power)
2) let it charge for 10 minutes
3) after 10 minutes, while the unit is still charging, Press and Hold the Reset button at the back. Hold for say 20-30 seconds, until the orange Palm logo appears.
4) if the orange logo appears, your unit is OK.
5) let it charge for a few hours
6) turn on the unit as usual.

If at Step 3 the unit is still not responding, then you'd have to send the pda for repairs.

My TX initially responded at Step 3, and I could use the pda for about 1 week.

After that the same thing happened again - no response whatsoever to switch on, soft reset, hard reset, battery reset.

I then had the unit swap repaired. I now have a very nice new-look refurbished unit. The screen, body, on-button, etc do not have any scratches whatsoever.
