t-mobile sidekick 08 is malfunctioning HELP!!?

a cupl days ago my 08 restarted on its own wothout me knowing. i left it on my counter to comeback and see the four symbols u see when you turn it on. problem is thats all that happend. i kept taking out the battery then sim then both and finally it turned on fully on its own time. but it the G is gone. its acting like my sim isnt init but at the same time it hasdnt mentioned that its not reading it. yet all my data is gone and its not asking me to sign in. i tried resseting it but it dont wrk. i only can find soft reset online and not the hard one. i went to tmobile and they sed i might have to get a new 1. pfffffffffffffffffft i wish i could give up on tmobile but its the only thing i can afford that does everything i need. the phone said theres a hardware problem. any ideas on why this happend and what can i do? also whats the hard reset for 08?
 
All I can say is, is maybe the phone isnt reading the sim card, try taking the battery and sim card out and get a little rubbing alcohol and a clean (non-lint) tisssue and wipe it. and then put it back in, make sure it's in right and then clean the contact on the battery then put it back in, put the cover back on and then turn it on again and see if it says the same message. If it still does, call 6-1-1 on your land line phone or on the neighbors phone and see if you can get it taken care of from Technical Support. Ask for them specifically for Sidekick Tech Support when the automated lady comes on. Hope this helps. If not buy one from a friend that you know works well or see if T-mo has any deals online or at any of their retail stores I find some discounts sometimes at far away malls. Do a little research and call around to see, it's worth the savings in money for your time and effort. I think that's gonna help you! I should work for T-mobile it would save my $323 dollar phone bill.
