T-Mobile - renewing plans - affect which lines

Hello,

I have had T Mobile for three or four years. I do not have any phones in contract at the present time. If I renew a Family plan with t Mobile do they renew or contract each and every line on the plan? Any way around this?

I want to renew a family 3000 plan. which I have only 5 total phones.

3 of the lines just get forwarded to my bb.

Not that it is a big deal to have a contract for 12 months. I just feel obligated to T Mobile. So if I disconnected early that's 200.00 per line - that's 1,000.00 to disconnect services early.

Lately I just have been purchasing phones outright. Maybe I can go with something else besides a promotional plan? Anyone know of a better deal?

5 lines - 3000 minutes
1 with bb service
all have unlimited SMS text service and picture message
I need about 3000 minutes
and I am the primary user of all lines
1 phone gets about 15-30 minutes a month.
I do occassionally go over my monthly aloted minutes - I am willing to pay additional.

Is there another plan or additional I can pay with out a contract.

I have been with t-mo for almost 4 yrs also and they will only renew the line that you specify, but beware T-Mo is switching over to 2 yr contracts. They are doing away with the 1 yr contracts.

do you mean that if I have 5 active lines. I can renew my main number. But I still would need the other 4 lines active also. Does T Mobile activate all 5 lines on the contract ?

Thanks

Correct, If One line would like a new phone and the rest love there phone. that one line can be renewed without affecting the rest of the family plan.. I came accross this same sutition with a customer yesterday so it's funny you ask this.

TMobile said that's not possible. When renewing with a family promo plan you must renew a contract for each line for a minimun of 1 year. Sounds Crazy

Well I called direct. They renewed all my lines. I think I am going to cancel within the 14 days. I am sure they will give me a hassle, like they have every other time. Service is good but the CSR do not know what the hell the facts are. Are corp stores different from when you call in? Or am I just dealing with idiots at TMobile.

i would recommend upgrading your phones and getting onthe myfaves plan, and adding the mobile to mobile onto your plan with the unlimited text, and blackberry feaure. if each line has up to 5 people that they talk to on a regular basis they can add them as their favorites and its unlimited calling to those numbers. and if that's working out you might be able to drop it down to the 2k minute plan!

Yeh, most my calls will be mobile to mobile. most all other calls will be from clients. easily reaching 2000 minutes. incming calls will be forwarded from our pbx. If we need more minutes we can just upgrade the plan. I guess the question at hand was laready answered. Tmobile CRS when you call the toll free number says upgrading the plan will upgrade all phones on the Family 2000 Promo, not just one. So which is it?

Thanks

I would reccomend going into a corp store, telling them that you only wanted to only upgrade just one of the line. if they tell you have to upgrade them all thats BS, they just want the commission on a full upgrade. you CAN upgrade one and not the other, if otherwise go to a authorized dealer and upgrade they will do one and not all.

I would reccommend having a plan and going down to a corporate location and giving them what you would like to do and take suggestions. They way our commission structure works and our company goals. we aren't going to push upgrading all five lines.just what you need. We are moving in the direction of giving great customer service with our call centers and in our retail stores. If we aren't listening to you and making you do something else we would be going in the opposite direction. So go down to a corporate store. And we will be glad to assist and answer all your questions. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

If you have a Fam time plan and change the priceplan to a promotional priceplan that requires a contract, because the priceplan effects all lines all lines will have thier contract renewed.

If you have a fam time plan and want to upgrade your phone on 1 line the contract will only effect that line because the other lines are not doing anything.
