T-mobile Dash Static Noise Issue?

Hello, I have a T-mobile Dash and every time I call someone or they call me all I hear is Static and don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. Also the static happens if I record my voice and then playback what I recorded so basically anytime a sound plays all I get is Static. I have Done a Hard reset as well as a Master Reset and still all I get is Static and nothing but static. The phone is now almost 3 years old I believe but have had this problem for about a year and so I've been just using an old phone instead. Anyways just wondering what the problem could be.
