Basically today I recieved a letter from a collection agency stating that I owe them 200.95 dollars for a T-Mobile account.
I was confused since I had no knowledge I had a debt from T-Mobile. I proceeded to call the collection agency and ask them what this was for, they told me to contact T-Mobile. I called T-Mobile and asked them what the charges were for and why have I not received any notification of this before. They said I should have been notified at my original address stated which is still the same to this day. I have not received anything no notification no nothing prior to them "charging off" the account and sending it to collections which was in Dec of 2009. Now on August 27, 2010 I get a letter from collections stating I have an outstanding bill.
I would like to know if its legal for T-mobile to not notify me and for the collection agency to put this on my credit report and just now notify me.
