My over barely over one year old blackberry ( thus out of warranty) has a problem-- it powers on, a spinner clock comes on and spins forever, then the device fails and says device error 500 ( then 499, then 498)-- if i try to charge the battery, occasionally it will coem on but eventually same thing happens. is it a permanent failure or would a new battery help? I refuse to buy another one of these things if this is just goin to happen again adn agin. HELP!!

This happend to me just got a screen and spining cursor .I had to reinstall the os with the batery out .there is a post here on rabroad that goes through the steps so don't panic search the forum

Hello samanthajg, welcome to rabroad. A restore of the OS should be fine, but wiping the old OS wouldnt be a bad idea.

Did it still boot up audreypearl? If it booted up and running fine then you shouldn't be worried. If it get stuck in the white screen with the hour glass then be worried. But the hour glass while booting is normal.
