T-Mobile betting on 3G to close on high-speed competitors

No it is not 3G capable. When comparing GPRS/EDGE 3G to EVDO, you are talking apples and oranges.

My old 8703e could do EVDO...but not EVDO Rev A ( I don't know if that is technically 3G, but it's 1.5 mbps). The new Sprint 8830s, I think, are EVDO Rev. A, capable.

I switched to T-M0 to get the 8320 because my wife has t-mo and I wanted to mobile to mobile minutes...I truly miss the speed of EVDO ...especially with the new 8330s coming out!

Same here. Hard to be an advocate and love a company when everyone else is telling you about their speeds being up to twice yours.

But then again, it's at twice the cost in a lot of cases.

I still love you, T-Mobile!

From my understanding of how the phones work is that if what ever phone u have is not already made electronically to use 3G you will not be able to get the higher speeds. It is not a software issue, it would be like trying to get broadband speeds out of a 56kps modem.
