T-Mo has decided that only new customers are allowed to buy this phone. After fighting with them (and trying to upgrade from my 8100) they finally admitted that only new customers are allowed to buy this phone at any price. As a five year customer with T-MO, I am thinking of heading to the Cingular store after work today........

I would like to upgrd my 8700G to the 8800 but was also given the "not available to you unless you are a new customer" line. I didnt contact a CSR as mentioned above, but my employer does work with a TMob sales rep who has had a good level of interest sent his way in customers who would like to go to the 8800. I havent heard squat from the guy, which is really strange considering he is usually all to hyped over the idea of extending contracts. Is there ANY way to get an 8800 from TMob without starting over again as a new customer?

Just get in contact with your corp account rep. When I call T-Mo customer service they tell me "no" for everything. Just like in those capital one commercials, but when I call our NAR, we can get whatever. Email, call, even visit if you can. Treat it like you are desprate. I'm just joking, but she try it again, maybe he was busy.

The "only for new customers" bit will only last for a couple of months. Tmo is using the 8800 to bring in new customers and don't want their inventory depleted by all of the old customers snapping them all up. Which we would do very quickly. A little patience is in order. I want one as much as the rest of you, I'm just going to have to wait. Not jump carriers and get much worse service just to be an early adopter. Just my narrow minded and uninformed opinion. (wap.rabroad.com)~

my first BB was a 7105t...it crapped out on me and when I called to get a replacement I said to the CSR " you know I've been a customer for 7 years....what are the chances that I could upgrade to the pearl as a replacement instead of buying one?"
he said well I have to look at a few things.......it looks like we dont have any 7105ts in stock, so I'll have to send out a pearl instead, I'm sorry for the inconvenince... will this be ok ? ( you could hear him smiling) I said " well I guess I'll have to take it if thats all you have available!! "

no complaints here...he took care of me as a longtime customer and I will stay here for quite a while!

besides....the 8800 sounds kinda shyty no camera? will it even play media?
if the next one has wifi, I may goto that for the tether capabilities but...till then its pearl time
