T-Mo, Wifi & 8120

I am not a CSR, but I only need to be near my home PC router for it to detect it. No need to pay for H@H unless you want to have your wifi calls to be free minutes on your phone plan. You need to set up wifi by going into your set up wifi connection Icon.

summer,

There is no additional charges from TMO to use wifi connectivity, including UMA calling. You have the option of adding the talk forever plan ($9/month) then your wifi minutes do not count against your plan minutes, however even without that you are able to use the UMA features, it just counts against your minutes.

You may also use the wifi browser even without a data plan at no cost.

Hope that helps.

summer,

Gary's information is spot on - I'm doing exactly that - using the 8120 wi-fi feature to browse the internet without a data plan on a T-mobile "to-go" account. I may be the only one in the country doing it.

One little caveat for the T-mobile "to-go" plan, the phone side of the 8120 is totally inoperative with wi-fi on. It works fine with wi-fi off. I talk on the 8120 so infrequently it took me several days to even notice.

weird, i've never heard of that before, that's good to know i suppose. then again, you probably are the only person using to-go AND the 8120!! haha.

Erica, on a "to-go" account? This isn't flex-pay, it's a pay for what you use type account. My OTHER account is flex-pay - I'm a mess. The things I do to avoid a contract!

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~ oh ok. I thought this was referring to a regular account. Too early in the morning here.
