synchronization problem

Me..!

New member
I just bought a new Toshiba notebook and cant get my T3 to talk to it. My sync log just says that when it gets to Calendar, the connection is lost. The handheld shows that its hung up on Calendar, but the computer log says that it goes to a recovery sync, but doesnt really connect with anything. The T3 still syncs fine with my previous notebook. The old notebook had Agendus on it and I have not loaded it onto the new one yet. I've now deleted that from the Palm, but that does not seem to help. Any ideas?

The T3 has some issues with the new calendar application including having the sync hang up when their are deleted recordes in the database. go to www.pimlicosoftware.com and download the the free utility DBScan, Sync this to you T3 and run it against your calendar database. Clean up any deleted records and then see if the sync proceeds correctly.

Though the notebook is new, and has Outlook 2003 at least temporarily loaded, I'm not using it. I've loaded Outlook 2000 and that is what I think I'm sinking to. Could I remove 2003? I dont see the free download at the website you noted. Its also failing to talk to other applications, like Splash. It sees the palm, makes the connection, but generally fails to successfully communicate with any applications.

BTW, thanks for your help, this forum is invaluable to me.

You can find DBScan at http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/utilities.htm at about the middle of the page.

Having two version of OUtlook installed is not a good idea. Hotsync expects to find only one version so you should decide which one to use. If you stick with 2003, there's an update at the PalmOne web site to improve the performance of the PalmOne conduits with OL 2003. You should certainly uninstall one version or the other. At that point, I would also uninstall the T3 desktop and then reinstall so it will find the correct version of Outlook. This may be the basic cause of your problems. Check to make sure all the Outlook conduits are installed after you reinstall the T3 desktop.

If you still have problems, paste a copy of your latest hotsync log in your reply as this helps understand what might be causing the problem.

I will be away until Tuesday so If I don't get back to you right away, it's not that I'm ignoring you. With some luck, doing what I have suggested will clear up your problem but post back here if it doesn't since there are other knowledgeable users that might be able to help.
