Synching with 3 computers

My boss has got a new Tungsten T3 and synchs with a computer at home, work and also with mine. Everything was ok when he had a T2, but he accidently broke it and then bought a T3. Every time either of us synch we have to change the computer settings to 'primary'. If I don't do this it does not update my computer and tries to connect to David's in the next office. How do we stop this from happening? It was working ok before the software update!

I believe this would have occurred if you updated using a Zire72 as well. The issue is the difference in conduits that the T3 uses over the older devices and a "primary" has to be set each time one device is synced.

I think you may want to reconsider using either a T3 or 72 with an older Palm device on the same machine.....there was some sort of disclaimer in the installation instructions to this effect. It's just the added features of the new conduits can cause conflicts with older devices.....in other words "progress".

Ok, sounds like the T3 is set to do a network hotsync. You need to turn that off. Here's how: First things first. Right click on the Hotsync manager in the system tray (next to the clock) and uncheck network. Now go to the Hotsync application on the T3. Choose LANSync Prefs from the Options menu. Choose Local HotSync. Now go to Primary PC Setup in the Options menu. Clear out everything on all three lines. Before you sync with your second PC (or third), make sure you uncheck Network in the Hotsync manager on that machine too, or it will automatically change your LANSync Prefs back to LANSync, and re-insert your computer name and IP into the Primary PC Setup screen.
