sword fish girls from empire of the sun?

Ok, so i just starte4d listening to empire of the sun and so far they seem pretty cool. My question is what is the significance of the sword fish chicks that like crawl on the beach and dance and shit? They're weird with their masks, i just want to know what they're there for and what they mean.
 
It's probably just because they are on the beach. I'm sure if they were somewhere else, say...A Park, then those girls would probably be birds or another park animal.

Also, it may just emphasise the fact they are on the beach. If you don't like my response, you could always google the song lyrics and sometimes they have the meaning of the song - which you could draw conclusions about the swordfish from. (e.g. Why are they there, what are they doing, why swordfish etc)
