swollen / stiff right index finger

my right index finger looks swollen, but I don't know if it actually is. This has happened a few times before. I took a nap and woke up an it felt like this.

I use the computer quite often and also uses my hands for working, lifting boxes an items etc.

It feels stiff, sometimes hot. "Rubbery" is another way to describe it. I cannot totally flex it so my finger curls up. My left index finger, I can.

There is no pain or anything, but it's feels very strange and I don't like it. It will go away, but then come back again I am sure.

not sure if I am allowed to bump but it's been over 2 months since I posted this. I have searched google, but I don't get anything close to what I describe.

It will happen at least once or twice during the day. Again, it's only the right index finger. When I curl or squeeze that finger in I can't have it totally touch my skin. The left index finger has no problem doing that.

It's tight right now and it usually feels tight and swollen above the joint. It doesn't hurt, but it's just an annoyance.

sorry you haven't gotten any replies on this but its kind of hit or miss here with certain issues. if no one really knows what this is or has any clue at all they usually wont post, ya know what i mean? have you seen a doc about this in these two months since you posted this just to have it better evaluated? there could just be so many possible reasons for this to even be there its best to seek out help from your doc on this one. espescially since there is not actual pain from this at all? no area of our bodies should simply 'swell' at all without some reason behind it. it could be an overuse type of situation or a tendon/muscle type issue, nerve problem or something very directly wrong with that particular finger too. this is just where the doc comes in and by looking at it and palpating it, having you bend it he would know more about what types of testing to do to just find that diagnosis. it usually takes tracking back a symptom to possible triggers and then testing and ruling things in or out to make a real true Dx of any real condition or problem we are having within our bodies somewhere.

i do hope you can find out just what could even be causing this in that finger. let me know what you find out, i am curious now too. i just really do think you need to see the doc for this one. FB
