My duaghter she just turned two in Deceraber. Some time before that she got up in the morning with a swollen knee and no pain. I took her to the Docs in Hospital and they said that it could be because she may had fallen and got hurt. So I left it....Her knee was swollen for around three-four days! Three weeks on and her knee got swollen again! she wasn't as bad. This morning she woke up again with a swollen knee. She hasn't complaint about any pain, but it seems a bit uncomfortable. However, she still jumping up and down, running and all-sorts.... It's constant warm and she can not straighten it. Has anyone any ideas?:(

Once time swollen knee that heals is a "maybe hurt, possible bug bite..." but this is now the third time in three weeks is no longer every thing is fine without looking for a source of either injury or infection. Does she have a regular pediatrician? I would call and schedule an urgent appointment with her family doctor and insist on a logical explanation as to why you should not be concerned and if the explanation is not forthcoming than it is time to have some test done to see what the problem is with her knee.
You need to try to think back at what or where she has been or doing in the days before you notice this swollen knee. Do you first notice the knee swollen after she wakes up in the morning or do you first notice it during the day or at night when you are putting her down or bathing her? Sometimes answering these questions may give you an idea of the source or reason why your daughter knee looks swollen. (e.g. when she sleeps, she hangs her leg out over the bed and it gets caught in between somthing and when she turns in her sleep she may twist it.) Whatever the reason, you must find a reason because childrens joints do not just swell continuesly without a reason.
Please let me know what you find out.
