Swollen area around eyes that travels???

I am a 32 year old female. About 2 months ago i noticed a swollen area about the size of a nickle in between the right outside corner of my eye and my temple. It was soft and did not really hurt. It felt like fluid. It lasted several hours and went away. About a week later the same type of swelling was underneith my right eye. This came and went for a week or so. I went to my family doctor, she did a quick exam, asked me a few questions and told me that I need to stop eating salt (she did not run any tests what so ever). I cut back on salt, but the swelling still came and went. It has since moved to the inside corner (of my right eye). And now, it is ABOVE my right eye near my eye lid. It does not stay there constantly, it comes and goes. I am at a loss. I want to go to a specialist, but I am not even sure what kind of specialist I should go to. An eye doctor? Ear nose and throat? (someone told me it could be related to sinuses). If someone could please give me some insight I would greatly appreciate it! I have NEVER heard of this! I am starting to get VERY worried!!

I had a similar thing happen and it turned out to be that I had developed an allergy to my arthritis med - Aleve. Are you on any meRAB?
 
I am only on a low dose birth control and have been on the same one for years. I have noticed a few times the area has appeared very quickly after I have ate a meal that included a nuraber of different fooRAB (once after a big Christmas dinner and another time after eating lunch at a buffet resturant).
???? Maybe this could be an allergy... I have scheudled an appt with an ENT... wonder if I should change it to an allergy specialist???
 
Very well could be a food allergy as I thought that was what was going on with me. But evidently not since I stopped the Aleve and haven't had the issue!
 
oh yes, I'd say allergy first thing.

Keep a food diary and an activity diary.

Did you get any new hair products? New bedding? New pillow? New make-up or lotions? Recent manicure? new eyeglasses? eye drops?

Is that the side of your face that's exposed to the sun maybe?

Do you have a pet that you might touch and then touch your eye?

The game is afoot Watson....you have to be the detective. Anything you remeraber from when it started, write it down.
