Ok, here's the deal. I am on a Sprint family plan with a total of 3 people. I (my # starts with 209) am not eligible for an upgrade until February. Another number on our plan (910) IS currently eligible.
As you probably very well know, the EVO 4G is coming out on Friday. I want one, and I've made a deal that if I buy a new phone using the 910's upgrade rebate or whatever, we will swap phones so they get my current phone (which would be an upgrade for them) and I get the EVO. It's win-win situation for both of us: I get the EVO at the lower price, they get a newer phone for free.
All I need to know is whether or not Sprint will allow us to switch the numbers like that? Basically we'd go to the store and buy the EVO under the 910 number, and then go home and call Sprint and ask to switch the numbers so I get the EVO under my 209 number, and she gets my phone under her 910 number. Has anyone ever done this? I don't see why they wouldn't... they're not losing any money or anything. The contract is still being renewed, I'm still buying a new phone, it's just that I don't want to wait until February.
