Switching my cell phone from Rogers to Koodo?

I currently have a cell phone with Rogers, but I want to switch to Koodo, and keep the phone that I have.
If I take the Sim card out of my phone, and get my phone unlocked, can I go to Koodo and get a plan with them ?
How do I do this?
