I at the moment have a 55gal tank that has 2 Fantail Goldfish and 1 Black Moor Goldfish in it. When the weather starts to get warm again in in mid February to early March I was wanting to change my tank to a Semi-Aggressive Community, will it be OK to do so by simply getting rid of the Goldfish and doing a 25-30% water change and adding a heater, or will I need to drain my tank and start over? Also I'm wanting to get a either regular or albino Rubber lipped Pleco when I start my Semi-Aggressive Community but would it be OK to get it now or should I wait until I get the heater in the tank?? Thanks in advance for the help.
