Switching cell phone companys from atnt to tmobile, help?

I am currently on a family plan with atnt. I want to get out of it and go to another family plan with my brother on tmobile. How much would the cancelation fee be? I herd it was 175 but im not sure. Also would it be less if I just take my friends upgrade thing because she is due for one. ALSO how much will a cell phone be with tmobile? Woud it be less because Im going on a family plan or a lot? Thank you
