So don't tell me to stick with the contract I signed, i have my reasons for wanting to switch.
So can this be done,
I'm a senior in high school btw. So I went to meps and put security forces on my contract for Air Force, i do not have a ship date yet or even a job offer. Since i've been DEP'd i've been having regrets and wished i'd stuck to my origional plan(Army). I honestly didn't realize i'd be signing contracts and swearing in at MEPS, I was told it was to just see if I was eligible healthwise to join (I know not an excuse, i should have researched it, but im just saying)
So now i want to switch from Air Force to Army(Infantry) I want to serve my country on the frontlines, i know you can serve away from them but that is just what I feel is right for me. So my question is basically how would I come about doing this, I know its possible, and is there any down sides to dropping out of Air Force DEP, ex. will I have to wait a certain amount of time to re-enlist in another branch or go to MEPS again. Thank you so much!
I was talking to the army recruiter before I went to the air force recruiter. He went on training for 7 weeks and then at the same time I went to meps for the AF. When he came back I went and talked to him, under my own will, he didnt ask me. I just came in and told him my situation and he told me basically I need to get the AF situation figured out and we'll talk from there. I know he's not legally supposed to talk to me but he did, not about contracts or anything I just had a few questions on ranks/benefits those kinds of things. So should I tell my AF recruiter I want to switch to Army thats why i'm dropping or should I make up an excuse. (Either way im not going to say I talked with the Army recruiter, as i dont want to get him in trouble, he's a nice guy and just tryin to help me through my own decision, not pushing me at all.) And please dont say he shouldnt be talking to me, because I know that, he told me he's not supposed to and so I stayed away from touchy subjects Thank you
