Switched to TMO

Well I finally left Sprint, after constantly having problems (overbilling, etc), and switched to Tmobile. I selected the GOLD Pearl, and also a BLUE Pearl. Since we rec'd the Pearls, I have had problem after problem using the GOLD Pearl as a modem. I am able to get it connected, but the connection is very brief, maybe 3 or 4 minutes. Then when I try to reconnect, it will not reconnect, unless I do a battery pull. I am not having any of the connection problems with the Blue Pearl. I have even used a different laptop I have spent several hours on the phone with Tmo BB support, and its still happening. Has anyone experienced anyhting like this, or have any suggestoins? Looks like I may need to switch the BB, again

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~firstly welcome to tmo, I recently switched from Sprint/Nextel also and I am much happier with the service. They should be both running the same OS but check anyway, Also maybe you need to re-register the gold BB with the server

both thegold and blue have the latest os but getting your service books resent. if that hasnt work try the old faithfull and reinstall the os

1st off congrats on getting out from underneath Sprint/Nextel, 2nd how long has it been since you purchased the gold pearl?
The reason I ask is that I know TMO allows 15 days for returns on new mobile sales due to defects such as this. If you are within that time frame you can call TMO CS and tell them you would like to return the device for a replacement and you should only have to pay for shipping.

I left sprint too, but they are going to charge me $400 early termination fee, how did you guys get out of that or where you at the end of your contracts?

Might need to hire an attorney to figure out how to get out of your contract but that effort would probably not amount to much loL WOW $400!!!
the funny thing is... we would rather pay these ungodly lump sums to get out of these contracts than stay and be subjugated to a basic billing free for all.
As for me, I stuck it out for a year with Sprint. I knew as soon as I left the store and I was in Roaming!!! that was the beginning of the end.

Yeah my contract was up but my lady's wasn't cuz she had recently upgraded. So we had to pay $200 for her contract but we sold our sprint handhelds on ebay and it easily covered the cost. Good riddens sprint!

Thanks for all the replies, and I am working on some of the solutions, I knew I could count on fellow Stackers

My contract wasn't up, but I will happily pay the termination fees to leave Sprint!!
