Hi,
does anyone else have this problem...it's driving me nuts..dont' get me wrong, this brace makes life much better, but I haven't even had surgery yet (1/26/09) and I CANNOT figure out how to wear this for more than an hour without having to change my shirt due to the sweating it produces, and it's cold sweat because I am living in winter. I am terrified at the thought of having to change it so many times a day post surgery, or if I will even be able to...I have tried every kind of whirt under it, including those polypropelyne ones for athletes and ppl who work outside..I have some, as I used to be a cyclist and now live on a farm, and they are supposed to "wic" away the sweat and keep you dry as you sweat, but not with this brace? and for women, any ideas on how to stop the under boob chafing????
LIke I said, I love this brace, but I am freezing in it most of the time..
Any advice appreciated!
Hope you are all as well as you can be out there:wave:

I wear a TLSO - Hard turtle shell brace. I have found that wearing an Underarmour shirt helps, however I like to wear 2 very light, very form fitting, cotton t-shirts under it too. It helps to keep me warm and seems to help with any extra sweating. There are days that I do change my shirts. After I shower I have to make sure I am VERY DRY. If I don't make sure my skin is very dry before putting on the brace, I tend to keep that extra moisture in and get colder very fast. Making sure that I'm VERY dry also helps with chafing, or you could use baby powder too

Hi there..I am post op 7 weeks fusion ..wear the corset type brace and have never had the sweating problem...may I ask if you are wearing the brace too tightly? The way I was fitted with the brace pre surg using all the all adjustments was with a little room like being able to stick a fingers width inbetween my body/clothing and the brace comfortably..I would not call it a tight fit but rather supportive...I wear the brace over anything I am wearing for the day and believe me in MI here its friggin cold so I have worn it over layers of bra tank turtle neck and cardigan sweater and just slapped the brace over all of it..adjust the tightness as needed..I think if you get some air even the slightest bit it might be more comfortable...;)
