Swallowed Mouthwash-Minty Odor from Nostrils

Several days ago, while rushing to get dressed, I gargled several tablespoons of mouthwash. In a rush, my throat reflex made me accidentally swallow the mouthwash. I've not been nauseated or sick. I called the poison center hotline to make sure everything was okay. When I exhale, I notice that a strange "minty" odor is coming from my nostrils. It was not present before this incident. It is similar to a menthol scent and causes my eyes to water. I have tried drinking a large amount of water to flush my system. I have also tried activated charcoal and liquid chlorophyll, in an attempt to deodorize my lungs. I have not been successful. I thought the menthol mint smell would disappear after a couple of days. I have never smoked cigarettes. Has anyone had a similar experience or have any suggestions? Any helpful insight is appreciated.

the scent is probably just some of the stuff in your stomach , i do not know wheter you should be worried. milk neutralizes the stuff porbably, jsut like when you swallow toothpaste you should drink milk. i dont think it has serious health consequences but dont do it too often

Thanks for the suggestion. I had considered drinking milk, but I am lactose intolerant. I may have to give it a try or try lactose free milk first. The minty scent is causing my eyes to burn. It is very awkward, to say the least.

it's possible when you swallowed it some of it is up in your sinus area? I would try getting one of those sinus rinse systems (Netipot) or use some simple saline spray to rinse your sinuses out.
