It's a very nice all-around bike. It has the same engine as the SV-650, a 90 degree V-twin with a counterbalancer that smooths out the vibrations. So you get the best of both worlds--V-twin simplicity and 'character', but smoothness too. It has a more upright seating position and wider handlebars for more comfort for long rides.
I never rode one, but I have a friend who has one and he loves it. It's not especially fast or powerful but it's one of those all-purpose designs, a bike that does everything well.
