How much should I expect off on a suzuki sx4 crossover?
I am looking at new 08s. Sticker prices are in the 17k range and I keep getting 500-700 off. The selling market is bad, I am expecting at least 2k - 3k off. Am I being unreasonable. Also, if I wait until jan, would it be better?

2009's are out now, so no reason to wait unless you just want to wait. Yes, you can get $2-3K off the sticker price. Check http://www.suzukiauto.com/specials/?year=2008 and see what of the $2750 worth of incentives you qualify for on the SX4. If this dealer won't give you the price you want, email some other Suzuki dealers, check their websites and see if they have an online sales department. Oftentimes you can save alot of time and get the best price by simply emailing the dealer. If they won't go down on price, then ask for 2 years of free service and extended warranty or extra feature, they like making those type of deals since it keeps you coming back and costs less upfront money.

$2 - $3K off might be overly optomistic. If you're getting $500 - $700 off, you might be able to squeeze an extra $100 or so out of them, but realize that even though times are tough, they're not going to sell the car for less than they paid for it.

Check Suzuki.com for special offers: http://www.suzukiauto.com/specials/

First, check www.kbb.com for what price the SX4 is selling for.

As far as the best time to buy, either at the end of the month (Friday would be the best day), or as you said, in January when people won't have money to buy cars.
