suzuki swift new model 5 door.air con .?

can anyone enlighten me of the correct method/sequence of using and adjusting the a/con.i just can not understand the details from the manual.so far it does not seem very effective,but that's probably my fault.also the air circulation how to.thank you in anticipation.
 
Engine has to be running
Fan has to be on.
Temperature has to be set to suit so all the way cold for maximum air cooling.
Air circulation is either from fresh outside or used air from inside - symbols are self explanatory.
Symbols for where the air is directed to are self explanatory.

There is no sequence of events to follow - all the controls can be used in any order.
