i have a 1999 suzuki sv650s which i bought 2 months ago and it has been stuck in the corner of my shed for that time due to me only now getting a bike liscence. it ran fine when i put it in and after a few times of starting it with a little bit of choke to warm it then letting it idle to charge the battery it was kind of spluttering and wouldnt iddle until properly warm.i asumed this is because it is just getting choked up due to not being run propperly so i decided to leave it until i get it out. Now it is out and i wanted to ride it down to the local garage to get it restricted but it refused to start. first time it started for about 5 seconds then splutterd and cut out, since then it will not start. iv tried cleaning plugs and checking fuel and bump starting but no joy.i got it to the garage in a van and asked him to have a look while restricting it. its now restricted and the mechanic says he thinks its a fuel pump because there is no fuel in the carbs. however im prety sure pumps do not break for no reason at all. am i right in thinking it is more likely a blocked, kinked or twisted fuel line somewere? or maybe there may be some gunk in the jets (although its only stood for 2 months). it has a new battery and the starter motor turns just like it should and all other electrics are fine. please help someone im desperate to get riding!!
