All of those things are accessories, which are prone to being lower quality. Pity- Suzuki did such a nice job on designing and building the bike, but then gets the bolt on accessories from the lowest bidder. Suzuki 'build' parts seem to be the same as other brands, which is shy the engine covers, handlebars, and other preminent parts of the bike do not peel like the accesories do.
There is no way to repair chrome. You can strip it off and have it rechromed, which usually costs more than just buying a new part, or you can rough up the chrome with sandpaper or better yet bead blasting, and paint it silver, flat black, or some other color. You can also strip it and powder coat it, but just like rechroming everything has to be completely disassembled and the original chrome removed, so the cost can add up quickly.
