suzuki gsx-r 600 junior year?

il be 16-17 junior year in high school and i dont want a car, i want a bike, so il be getting a 07' maybe 09' suzuki gsx-r 600, good choice? will guys at school push it on its side? or will i kill myself. and wat are sportsbike laws in ohio and wat kind of process is there to get my licence.
