I just bought a 2004 GS500F with 6k miles on it. Not a powerhouse, but it's everything I need and nothing I don't (Granted, it WOULD be fun to have a bike that can go 150+), so I'm quite pleased with my choice. Good insurance, great mileage (60ish), sharp looks, comfortable, and does freeway speeds without having to crank the hell out of the engine.
One thing I've noticed is a lack of information online about these things- There are owners groups but it seems to me that most people who own these things aren't fanatics like the Gixxer or CBR crowds.
Assuming proper maintenance, and a moderate riding style ( The occasional romping on it to get on the freeway, or hitting some twisties every month or so) how many miles can I expect out of this thing?
