Suzuki DR600

Hi all

I have a 1985 DR600 with a faulty CDI. I got one from a 1986 bike but it has one more wire on it grey coloured. Does anyone know if this unit will do my bike as all the other connections are the same. If I even had an idea what this grey cable was for I could maybe overcome it i.e. live or neutral. thanks in advance
