Suzuki Bergman 400 scooter, or Honda Shadow Aero 750?

When you have a choice, always choose a motorcycle over a scooter.
Scooters have such small diameter wheels, they get swallowed up by pot-holes making the ride extremely dangerous at high speeds (50+).

I can get a great deal on either one of these through private sellers.
I know the cruiser is what most guys prefer, but I wonder how cool
a Bergman 400 scooter would be?

It's an interesting choice. The Bergman will get better mileage, and it's got an automatic transmission. The Shadow is a cruiser and cruisers are all about style--you like that style or you don't. But then to some people scooters are about style. Cruisers are not especially powerful for their weight and size so I'm guessing both bikes would be about the same speed and acceleration. Either would be nice on a long trip or just for commuting. Neither is especially sporty or great in the handling department.

I think it comes down to which you like better, which image you prefer--nerd or bad boy. 8^) I would go for the Shadow but if you like the scooter better, it would serve you just as well.

The Honda Shadow is a very S-------L--------O-------W cruiser, its reliable, its a good one, it looks good, but its really-really slow!
The Suzuki Burgman is super fast and quick and handles like sport bike, it offers excellent wind protection where you can smoke a cigarette and hear the birds signing as you ride one at 70 mph, they ONLY flaw in the Burgman is its hard on tires, it will wear out a set of tires twice as fast as a cruiser bike.
