Sutra lounge in Newport?

It really depends on what you like. Sutra lounge is a place where you definitely dress to impress. It seems to cater to an older crowd, compared to the hopping club scene in LA. They definitely treat you well, according to everyone I've spoken to (my classier friends in the OC).

A massive Buddha presides over 10,000 square feet of candlelit gold, ebony and crimson dining spaces, VIP nooks and a Moroccan-style patio. State-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, and top DJs spinning eclectic music, ensure heavy traffic on the dance floor. Three bars offer premium beverages, flavored martinis and custom cocktails but they do not outshine French chef Stephane Beaucamp's eclectic grazing menu (lobster scallion shooters, shrimp lollipops, black chocolate goddess cake), meant for sharing.

If it's your cup of tea, by all means GO!

I beg to differ with the above answer. I have found the crowd to be younger actually. I mean, geez, Steve Aoki spun there a couple of Fridays ago, thats not OLD PEOPLE music!

You have to realize clubs in Orange County aren't going to be as great as the ones in LA, but as far as OC goes, Sutra is decent on Friday nights.
