Survival of vertebrate animals on land vs. in aquatic environments?

What are some problems with vertebrate animals that live on land that wouldn't be problems with vertebrate animals that live in more aquatic environments?
What would be a solution? an animal that uses this solution?

for example to the last two parts: a fish needs to breathe (problem) so it has gills (solution)..
