In Australia we call them "gotcha calls", anyway. They are phone calls where the radio announcer phones people and pretends to be someone else, eg. the announcer might ring someone and say that he/she ate a meal at their restaurant and got sick and is going to sue them. At the end of the phone call, they will tell them it's a "gotcha call".
