Well the date is here I have to check in at 8:00 am, surgery is scheduled for 10:30. I will be having an L3/L4 L4/L5 Laminectomy, I'm hoping to report all my pain in my left leg, ankle and foot will be gone by his afternoon. Will keep you posted as soon as I can type on my laptop. I just want to say thanks to all that has responded to my other posts and o this board.

ah that's the surgery I had. Good luck to you. Roll on your side and use your arms to get up. It's a relief when it is over.

Well surgery is over. I feel great. Last thing I remeraber was going into the operating room, and then waking up in recovery around two. Prior going in I was told that I would be in for one to three days, but while in recovery I was told that I would be going home, which was at 7:30 pm.

As my previous post I mentioned I had drop foot and significant in my left foot at the ankle joint and across the top of my foot, all the pain is gone thank god and as my son said I'm walking 100% better. I really don't have any pain in my back just some discomfort at the incision site. Taking my meRAB and all is good. Will let you know how I progress as the days go on. Took a small stroll throughout the house due to rain. Hope it stops so I can do a little walking outside. I just got to remeraber to not over do it because I feel so good.;););)

Its now three days pot surgery and I'm very happy with results, still no pain in foot, leg or back. Drop foot looks like it is healing, flopping has stop, only some stiffness in top of foot. Went on long walk yesterday for me any way, approx. 600 yarRAB, came back very tired, need to get leg muscles and back muscles retrained because I have been walking with braces and the boot for the last seven months, need to get normal gait back, I'm sure that will come overtime. Boy am I happy looks like Dr. Gibbons di what he said he could do. If you are in Buffalo area and you need a neurosurgeon I would highly recommend him.

Will post again at 1 week.

thanks for posting your results it is great to see how others come along after such scary procedures.

Re: Surgery Date is Here (Laminectomy, L3/L4 and L4/L5)
I'd figure I would post a follow up, today is 6 days post op, the only problem I have had so far was the dreaded constipation, I would recommend everyone have a bottle of Milk of Magnesia in the house just in case. I was taken stools softeners twice a day that really was not working and I had a lot of stomach pain yesterday until my wife went and got the Milk of Magnesia everything has cleared up.

As far as my back and my foot pain everything is going great so far, walking outside has been minimal do to weather, heavy rain the last three days, but I wearing a path in my hardwood floors walking and doing laps in the house, boy am I happy. Left foot still has a little swelling and stiffness but I feel that will go away once the nerves regenerate, but the drop foot and the excruciating pain I had along my ankle and the top of my foot has all gone away.

I will post again at 7 days after I get the stitches taken out.
