Superhero Movies

Being a comic book fan boy back in the day, I am delighted with all the current crop of movies that have been out. Some of the violence has been toned down, to make it more accessible to kiRAB, but overall they have been excellent.

So far The Dark knight, Iron Man, X Men 3 and Spiderman have been great movies. The rest have been fairly disappointing.

Any superhero films you hope to get made?

I am hoping they do a big budget Silver Surfer movie.

It all depenRAB on who is going to make them and direct them to be honest.

I'd love to see a Flash movie or Justice League movie. I'm surprised Justice League hasn't been done yet to be honest although there have been rumors. Just look at how sucessful Marvel's X-Men was.

;28287464']Loved Batman Begins and I'm looking forward to The Dark Knight coming through the letterbox. I though the X Men series was OK but not brilliant and I'm not too bothered about Spider-Man 3 (first 2 were OK, I can't bring myself to watch the 3rd again.) I thought that IronMan was great, hope the next one can top it.

I'd love to see Superman get the Batman Begins treatment, Superman Returns was just too sugary as well as being as near as damn it a remake of Superman the Movie. A more gritty slightly darker Superman would be great.

I can't say I have a preference for a particular Super Hero / comic book movie, I just hope that any new movie has a good script, a good cast and a director that knows what he's doing.

LOL no mate, big fan when i was a young teen, but 33 year old fathers can't spend time reading comics.

That is why i love the movies. ;)

;28287593']I doubt that a Justice League movie would ever get made. Unlike the X Men, the Justice League members are character's in their own right and big characters at that. I think it would be difficult to get Superman, Batman on screen together with the other members of the League as their appearance could have an effect on their existing franchises.

I'd love to see it, but I doubt it will ever get out of production hell.

It'll never happen but I'd love to see Space Sentinels made into a movie. Just bought the dvd of the original 'toon and it's as bonkers and superb as I remember it.

Here are DC plans for their superheros for the next few years:

"Warner Bros. Pictures Group President Jeff Robinov has revealed to The Wall Street Journal that the studio has made up its mind about the future of not just the Superman franchise but much of the DC superhero line-up which it owns the rights to develop.

Rather than doing a sequel to 2006's disappointing "Superman Returns", the studio plans to reboot the feature much like Universal rebooted the "Hulk" franchise this year.

Robinov says "'Superman' didn't quite work as a film in the way that we wanted it to, it didn't position the character the way he needed to be positioned. Had 'Superman' worked in 2006, we would have had a movie for Christmas of this year or 2009. But now the plan is just to reintroduce Superman without regard to a [previous] Batman and Superman movie at all."

The studio has also nixed the "Batman vs. Superman" and "Justice League" projects for now as they plan to adopt the same model Marvel Studios is doing right now - releasing a single film for each character, and then using those movies and their sequels to build up to a multicharacter film a few years down the line.

Also like Marvel, the aim is for the DC Comics label to supply two of the 6-8 tentpoles per year that Warners releases by 2011. The studio is aiming to release four comic-book films in the next three years, including a third Batman film, a new film reintroducing Superman, and two movies focusing on other DC Comics characters. They presently have Green Lantern, Flash, Green Arrow, and Wonder Woman projects in development.

Unlike Marvel though with its lighter and more fantasy based approaches (ala "Iron Man," "Spider-Man"), the aim here is the dark realistic tone of "The Dark Knight" for all their heroes - "We're going to try to go dark to the extent that the characters allow it" says Robinov.

Official plans and hopefully dates of these projects will be announced in the next month."
